Overview

Active Release Techniques Soft Tissue Pain Management System (ART®)

Active Release Technique is a patented, state-of-the-art, soft tissue system that is movement-based to treat problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves.

Active Release Technique (ART®) is considered by OSHA as the Gold Standard for soft tissue injuries with a 90% success rate treating soft tissue conditions. As a board-certified chiropractor and certified practitioner in Active Release Techniques®c, Rapid Recovery Care is dedicated to helping individuals reach an optimum level of health and fitness through personalized treatment specifically tailored to one’s activity level and needs.

Soft tissue refers primarily to muscle, tendon, fascia, and nerves. Specific injuries that apply are repetitive strains, adhesions, tissue hypoxia, and joint dysfunction.

Many daily activities cause repetitive stress and the formation of scar tissue, which then hinders the movement and function of soft tissues (muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves). This creates symptoms of pain, stiffness, decreased range of motion, numbness, and weakness.

If You Suffer From Any of the Following ailments

Over used muscles (and other soft tissues) change in 3 important ways:

R

Acute conditions (pulls, tears, collisions, etc.)

R

Accumulation of small tears (micro-trauma)

R

Not enough oxygen (hypoxia)

What is an ART® treatment like?

Every ART® session is a combination of examination and treatment. The ART® provider uses his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements.

These treatment protocols – over 500 specific moves – are unique to ART®. They allow providers to identify and correct the specific problems that are affecting each individual patient. ART® is not a cookie-cutter approach.

Almost any type of soft tissue injury can benefit from ART® treatments. Treatment plans are short (approximately 12-14 total visits), and most patients report immediate relief after their first visit.

With years of experience, we have seen some amazing recoveries among a wide range of athletes: cyclists, football and baseball players, bodybuilders, weightlifters, swimmers, runners, martial artists, and gymnasts, to name just a few. Furthermore, the procedures work equally well for average men, women, and children of all ages.
